Tend Your Own Garden: A 10-Week Course to Falling In Love with Yourself and Getting What You Want

I created Tend Your Own Garden out of necessity for my own growth, independence, and ability to show up in healthy relationship with others. Using the metaphor of a garden, I found myself helping tend to everyone else’s gardens, neglecting my own. I would bring “seeds”, “fertilizer”, “water”, and help others plot their own gardens. In the meantime, my garden was on fire. In relationships, I would make sure I took care of others first, hoping that my efforts would be seen and then reciprocated. When they weren’t, I would become resentful. When the relationship ended, all I had to show for it was a barren, overly weeded, or a scorched plot of land.

In the book “Conscious Loving”, it’s stated, “Learning to be fully you at the same time as you are fully in union is the capstone of a healthy life”. To be independent and take care of your “garden” doesn’t mean you cannot be in a relationship, or that you only think about yourself. To Tend Your Own Garden, you’re able to give to all relationships from a place of abundance, and you avoid becoming entangled in taking care of someone else’s responsibility. Tending your garden means taking 100% responsibility for your own life, so you have something to offer to the world in a genuine, abundant, and whole place. When I have a physical garden, I usually end up with a surplus of cucumbers, tomatoes, and herbs that I couldn’t possibly use on my own. I am able to give those veggies and herbs away with love and excitement, not from being energetically drained, or hoping that they will give back in return. This is the concept of Tend Your Own Garden, taking care of yourself first, and giving and relating from a place of wholeness. Then your relationships with others are real, don’t come from a place of dependence or neediness, and if you uncouple, you’re not lost or alone, because you’ve formed a deep relationship with yourself where all of your needs are met.

Tend Your Own Garden is for any woman, whether you are in a relationship, desiring to be single for a while, are healing from a breakup, or are ready to meet that epic love. The tools in the course will allow you to form healthy relationships to not only significant others, but your family, friends, coworkers, and the world itself. You will learn how to interact with the others in a healthy way, discover parts of yourself you may not even know existed, and show up as the authentic you that ultimately benefits everyone when you show up this way.

This course is for you, if you:

  • Find it hard to say no, and ask for what you need
  • Are in an unhealthy, unfulfilling, or strained relationship
  • Find that you repeat the same types of relationships, unable to break the cycle
  • Want to deepen your relationship with yourself
  • Desire independence and to cultivate a life that is authentic to you
  • Feel burned out, overwhelmed, exhausted, depressed, or anxious
  • Crave a community of like-minded and supportive women
  • Are ready to find a partner who adds value to your life
  • Are the slightest bit curious

Tend Your Own Garden is a 10 Week Course to deepen your relationship with yourself, uncover what you desire most, and to feel confident in asking and going after what you want. It’s a virtual course, so it is not limited by time or space. Classes will be recorded and shared so you can return to lessons and still receive the teachings even when you’re unavailable. We meet weekly on Zoom and there will be a group page to interact with other women on this profound journey together. Think of it like a community garden, you have your own plot that you are responsible for, but your growth is exponential when supported by a community of sisters who desire similar outcomes. Community has been a huge help in my growth, healing, and feeling of support in my own life. It opens up a safe place to share your own experience, to help others, and receive help from those who have overcome similar situations you’re experiencing now. I have found lifelong friends in containers like this, so there is no limit to how impactful two and a half months can really be!

You get what you put into everything, and this course is no different. I can show you a path that has worked for me and many others, but it’s only as useful as much as you practice and integrate. This is a beginning outline and many of these tools you will find benefit you for the rest of your life.

What will you learn?

Week 1: Plotting Your Garden

The first week is looking honestly at, and accepting where you are right now. You are already whole and perfect as you are, but practices this week will allow you to see where you are, and where you’d like to go. Perhaps you have a regular practice of goal setting and taking inventory of your life already, or you have never sat down to really look at your life. Either way, you will find support and new ways to evaluate your life.

Week 2: Build Your Fence

This week is all about boundaries: what they are, how to know you need them, how to enforce them, and identify your own needs. Many times when we find goals hard to reach, or our energy levels are drained, it’s because we don’t have clear boundaries with others. We will practice setting boundaries in class by giving examples as well as reminders to practice these tools throughout the course.

Weeks 3 and 4: Tilling the Soil

Tilling the soil requires a lot of information and exploration and just cannot be accomplished in one week. This is my favorite subject! We will be diving into our shadows, roots, and old programs and stories that just are not serving us. Shadow work creates fertile ground for the crops we want to harvest in our lives.

Week 5: Planting the Seeds

What do you want to see grow in your life? What stories do you want to see unfold? This week we get to plant what we want in our lives. If you could create anything, what would it be? What if you knew you co-created everything in your life? If you’re sick of tomatoes in your garden, stop planting tomato seeds.

Week 6: Water Your Garden

Unlock the power of celebration, gratitude, and raising your vibration. A well-hydrated garden creates lush greens, vibrant flowers, and robust fruits and vegetables. Again, what you put into your garden determines what you will be able to harvest in your life. The more grateful we are, the more in our life we have to be grateful for!

Week 7: Shine your Light, Sunshine

Golden shadows, self-love practices, commitments to self, and looking forward into a bright and fulfilling future keep you motivated. Why just saying affirmations doesn’t work, and how to tap into the depth of being versus doing.

Week 8: The Richness and Pleasure of Your Lady Garden

I could spend weeks on this topic! Learn how pleasure is your power, how to connect with your pussy and Mother Earth, and to feel how uplifting sisterhood feels. This week will be all about your innate Goddess and unlocking the taboo to bring magic into your life.

Week 9: Pruning Your Crops

Week 9 is all about trimming away what isn’t you, discovering more of your unique purpose, and to let go of what no longer serves you. Stop engaging in activities that don’t propel you to your most fulfilling future and instead put your energy where it matters. This may include nonbeneficial relationships, unfulfilling jobs, or even clutter around your home.

Week 10: The Great Harvest

What is the fun of doing the work of tending a garden if you can’t enjoy the fruits of your labor? This week we CELEBRATE! This isn’t the end! You might pair up with a sister from the course and continue working on all these steps. Continue to hold each other accountable and raise each other up. We get to celebrate each other, and ourselves for showing up.

If you’ve made it this far, this course is for YOU! Give yourself an incredible gift for an investment of only $222! That’s $22.20 per week, less than a dinner out. This investment is just the start of creating a beautiful relationship with yourself that spills beauty into the lives of those around you. Not only are you helping yourself, you are shining your light for others to tap into their own healing. This course is an act of service, reverence, and love.

Who am I?

I, Savannah, am an Integrative Wellness and Life Coach. I received my certification through Integrative Wellness Academy in November of 2017. I love coaching, teaching, learning, and applying what I have learned to my own life. I have read countless self-help and self-growth and exploration books. I have attended many courses: online, in-person, and through year long mastermind groups. I understand the power of community, identifying my own blind spots and shadows, and work with my own coaches. Helping others and sharing my wisdom is incredibly satisfying and I believe everyone deserves to life the life of their dreams. I am also a Licensed Massage Therapist and graduated from Heritage College in 2016, a Level III Reiki Therapist since 2017, and I received my 200-RYT hours for yoga instruction in 2018. I love blending the wisdom from all of these modalities into my classes and work with clients. I have been witness and held space to dozens of lives being transformed, their healing, and “a-ha” moments. Currently, I am enrolled in Layla Martin’s VITA™ Woman Coaching Program to be a certified Love, Sex, and Relationships coach and will forever be a lifelong learner.

My vision is to help women find empowerment to stand on their own, have fulfilling relationships with themselves and others, and to create sovereignty and pleasure in their lives. I desire this to translate to women leaving unhealthy relationships, healing from them, and stepping into a new paradigm that prevents them from finding their way into another toxic environment. Our planet needs all hands on deck, and women, the divine Feminine, I believe, are the key to healing our world.
